GACB Summary Points

  • GACB by-passes PTT rates and lets customers make calls anywhere in the world at U.S. rates.
    PTT(Post, Telephone & Telegraph--The organization,
    usually a monopoly and typically government- owned,
    that provides telephone service in a country.)
  • Minimum usage is $15/mo for each line provisioned, but check the Minimum Policy below.
  • Even with the minimum, the savings can be as great as 20% to 55%. You can select one month in which he or she wants to have the minimum waived. If a month is not selected, August is the default month.
  • Fraud Control -- Our system alerts us when a customer uses more than $300 per line.
  • 5-digit account codes are available at no extra charge.
  • Billing is 30/06. In most countries rates are flat rated 24 hours a day. Complete call detail with every invoice. Many PTTs do not have this feature.
  •  Countries approved for Bank Debit payment method:

  •  Payment is due within 20 days. Bills go out at the end of each month.
  •  No charge for unanswered or busy signal calls.
  •  Service is totally blocked in some counties and partially blocked in others (refer to the Blocked Countries list).
  •  Customer can receive his or her DID number at the time it is entered in the IDB and can use it within a couple of hours. DID(Direct Inward Dial--lines that can only receive incoming, non 800 calls.)

Instructions for Using GACB

  1. You need a touch-tone phone to use GACB service.
  2. Dial your U.S. DID number. You must dial the normal international prefix (which varies from country to country) before dialing the DID.
  3. After one ring, hang up.
  4. A computer in the U.S. recognizes the number and calls you back immediately.
  5. When you pick up the phone, you hear a GA dial tone.
  6. For calls to the U.S., Canada, and the Caribbean, dial 1+area code+number. For calls to other countries, dial country code+number (do not dial 011).
  7. If you use the account code feature, you will be prompted to enter the Account Code.
  8. To make additional calls without hanging up, press # (pound). If you misdials, press * (star) to get new dial tone. If you get a busy signal or there is no answer, press # for new dial tone.

Minimum Policy

GACB/ECB/TCB Minimum Policy Revised 1/98

GACB/ECB/TCB minimums are calculated based on the country the customer lives in (Location country/BTN country), not the country the WTN is in. For example, for a customer living in France with a GACB line in Italy and a GACB line in Spain, the minimums for all of these lines would be calculated by the rules for France. This customer would be charged a $15/month minimum for each line, including FaxSaver lines. New customers do not receive a minimum charge for the first two invoice cycles. After that your minimum phone bill will be $15 dollars a month if minimums apply.

This group includes all of the countries not listed in Categories 1 and 2 -- most countries. The first line has no minimum and each additional line has a $15/month minimum. month.

This is a special exceptions category only for customers meeting these conditions: customer is in one of the countries listed below, and added GACB/FaxSaver service or GACB/FaxSaver lines between 8/7/96 -10/4/96. The first line has no minimum and each additional line has a $15/month minimum.
